Taverna Alfacinha

Visiting Taverna Alfacinha in Lisbon turned out to be a memorable experience, especially when it came to the food. We ordered the grilled octopus and a steak dish, and both were genuinely outstanding. The octopus was tender, flavorful, and perfectly charred, while the steak was cooked just right, juicy, and full of rich taste. It’s clear that the kitchen takes pride in the quality and preparation of their dishes, and that alone makes the restaurant worth visiting.

However, it’s important to mention that the waiting time was noticeably long. We waited around thirty minutes—maybe even a bit more—before our food arrived. While the meal was absolutely worth it in the end, the delay is something to keep in mind, especially if you’re visiting during peak hours. The place gets busy, and you can feel that the staff are doing their best, but the high demand definitely slows things down.

The atmosphere, on the other hand, is warm and pleasant. The restaurant has a lively, local feel that adds to the charm of the experience. Even though it was crowded, the energy was positive, and it felt like a place where people genuinely enjoy gathering for good food and conversation. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which helped balance out the longer wait.

One of the biggest advantages of Taverna Alfacinha is the pricing. For the quality of the dishes—especially the seafood and meat—the prices are surprisingly reasonable. It’s rare to find a spot that offers such well‑prepared food without being overpriced, especially in a popular city like Lisbon.

Overall, Taverna Alfacinha delivers excellent food, a lively atmosphere, and great value for money. If you don’t mind waiting a bit, it’s definitely a place worth trying.

Small restaurant that’s very cute inside. Service is really nice and we got a dessert wine on the house. The paella was very good with a lot of seafood or whatever you order. The cod was pretty salty though. At like 4:45 pm there was no wait. I would get the paella or pasta if I came back
