Restaurante Pica-Pau | Gastronomia Portuguesa
Description
We are from the time of our grandparents and we remain completely given over to Pastéis de Bacalhau (Cod Cakes), Rissóis de Leitão (Suckling Pig Rissoles), Açorda (Prawn) and Pica-Pau. This everyday food takes us back to our childhoods and to flavours that everyone here knows so well. As in any Portuguese home, the table is always laid and the doors open to whoever comes to visit. We take care of the rest.

We had a great lunch at Pica-Pau. Food was delicious and the environment was comforting. Iara was professional, attentive, and gave good recommendations to the food and wine. Thanks for making our day.

Pica Pau in Lisbon is an absolute standout and an easy 10/10. The chef’s recommendation—the duck rice—was phenomenal: rich, deeply flavorful, and perfectly balanced with tender shredded duck, chorizo, and smoked bacon. Every bite felt indulgent without being heavy. The experience was elevated even further by the incredibly friendly staff; my waitress was knowledgeable and had a nice smile, and her wine recommendation paired beautifully with the dish. Warm hospitality, excellent food, and thoughtful service make Pica Pau a must-visit when in Lisbon.

If you want a true taste of Portugal, this spot delivers big time. Always buzzing so booking ahead is your best friend.
Mafra bread, slow‑cooked pork that melts away, classic gambas, and plenty of dishes made for petiscar, sharing, and discovering new flavors together. No fuss, no over‑styling — just honest, consistent, beautifully crafted Portuguese food.
The location is cool the energy is lively, and the service is fast, friendly, and on point.
A must‑try in Principe Real.

Everything is soooo good! Especially pork Presa and loin skewer madeira island style. We orderws another Pork presa for desert(not kidding). Is so soft. We will come back for sure. Best restaurant in Lisbon for sure

Excellent Portuguese restaurant with incredible service. Everything tasted very good, the service was attentive. My only regret is that there didn’t seem to be any Portuguese people there, probably because it’s a bit pricey, but that gave a slightly inauthentic vibe to the place.
